ResMed Buys MatrixCare
San Diego-based ResMed, a developer of software for the healthcare market, has acquired MatrixCare, a developer of long-term post-acute care software. According to ResMed, it will pay $750M for MatrixCare, which it will fund primarily through a credit facility. MatrixCare is epxected to have pro forma net revenue of approximately $122M, and pro forma EBITDA of approximately $30M. Syntiant Snags $25M For Edge Computing
Irvine-based Syntiant, which is developing semiconductor used for edge computing, raised $25M in its Series B funding. The funding came from Sunstone Venture Capital Fund, along with Seraph Group, plus Microsoft, Intel, Amazon, Robert Bosch, Applied Materials, and Motorola, according to the company. RingDNA Adds $30M For Sales Analytics
Los Angeles-based RingDNA, which develops analytics software used for understanding the sales process and sales conversations, said last week that it raised $30M in a growth capital funding. The funding was led by Goldman Sachs Growth Equity (GS Growth), and also included Palisades Growth Capital and Bryant Stibel. NASA, SpaceX Rehearse Crew Ocean Landings
NASA and SpaceX have been rehearsing recovery for future, crewed missions of the SpaceX Crew Dragon out at sea, NASA said on Monday, as the two move closer to launching astronauts into space using SpaceX rockets. According to NASA, SpaceX has outfitted its recovery ship, the GO Searcher, with a medical treatment facility and a helipad in the center of the vessel, in the "unlikely event" of an astronaut medical emergency. Elon Musk: Boring Company Tunnel Will Open December 10th
The first, high tech test tunnel built by LA's The Boring Company, bored between the SpaceX parking lot and a home in Hawthorne, California, is almost complete, and will open to the public on December 10th, according to Boring Company and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk. Foothill Ranch-based olloclip, which makes add-on lenses for smartphone photographers, has launched two new lines of lenses. According to olloclip, it has launched a new "Pro" and "Intro" series of lenses, which provide different quality lenses and different price points for customers, letting users shoot much wider and closer than typical built-in smartphone cameras. CoreLogic Names Deputy Chief Economist
Irvine-based property information and data provider CoreLogic has named Dr. Ralph McLaughlin as the company's new Deputy Chief Economist, the company said this morning. McLaughlin was most recently Chief Economist at Trulia. CoreLogic said that McLaughlin will help the firm expand the visibility of its economic policy unit, plus help it enhance its research capabilities and tools.
